🩰 Dance Choreography - "I Belong"
What is Dance Choreography?
Dance choreography means YOU create the dance moves! You design how the dancers move to show the theme "I Belong."
Can I Be in My Own Dance?
✅ YES! You can perform in your dance
✅ OR you can have other people perform your dance
✅ Either way is great! You're the choreographer (the person who creates the moves)
What Kind of Dance Can I Do?
Any style you want! Here are some ideas:
- 🩰 Ballet
- 🎵 Hip Hop
- 🎶 Jazz or Tap
- 🌍 Folk Dance (cultural dances)
- ⛸️ Ice Skating
- 🤸 Gymnastics Floor Routine
- 🎭 Contemporary Dance
- 💃 Religious/Cultural Dance
- 🎪 Color Guard/Indoor Guard
Don't worry if you're not a "trained" dancer! Simple moves are just as good as fancy ones. What matters most is showing the theme "I Belong" in YOUR creative way!
What Will the Judges Look For?
Judges want to see:
- ✨ How your dance shows the theme "I Belong"
- 🎨 Your original, creative ideas
- 💭 Your artistic vision (what you were trying to show)
Helpful Tips:
- Think about the music you choose
- Think about where you film your dance
- Use props if they help tell your story
- Make it YOURS!
Important Rules
Music Rules:
- You CAN use background music
- You MUST write down what song(s) you used on the entry form
- The music can be any song (even copyrighted songs are okay for the background)
Video Rules:
- Time Limit: 5 minutes or less
- File Size: Must be 1,000 MB or smaller
- File Type: MP4, MOV, or AVI only
- NO added graphics (no text, stickers, or filters on the video)
- NO copying other people's choreography - it must be YOUR original dance
Who Can Submit:
- This must be brand new choreography (not something you made before)
- Only ONE student can be the choreographer per entry
- Other people can help perform, but YOU must create all the dance moves
How Do I Submit My Dance?
Step 1: Create your dance video
Step 2: Make sure it follows all the rules above
Step 3: Fill out the student entry form in English or Spanish (write down your music if you used any)
Step 4: Turn in your video and form by October 24, 2025
